El anuncio de los nominados al Juego del Año en The Game Awards ha generado gran expectación entre los aficionados a los videojuegos, con Baldur’s Gate 3 y Alan Wake 2 liderando la lista con ocho menciones cada uno en diversas categorías.
Geoff Keighley, el presentador de The Game Awards, reveló el lunes que Alan Wake 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3 y Super Mario Bros. Wonder competirán por el codiciado título de Juego del Año.
Baldur’s Gate 3 y Alan Wake 2 se destacan al liderar con ocho nominaciones cada uno, seguidos por Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 con siete, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom y Super Mario Bros. Wonder con cinco, y Resident Evil 4 con tres.
Este año ha sido especialmente relevante para Nintendo, que acumula un total de 15 nominaciones. Le siguen PlayStation con 13, Xbox con 10, Epic Games con nueve, y Capcom, Larian y Square Enix con ocho cada uno. Electronic Arts cuenta con seis nominaciones, mientras que CD Projekt Red y Riot Games tienen cuatro cada uno. Notablemente ausente en la mayoría de las categorías está Starfield de Bethesda Softworks, que solo recibió una nominación en la categoría de mejor juego de rol.
La ceremonia de The Game Awards se transmitirá en vivo el 7 de diciembre desde el Microsoft Theater en Los Ángeles. Además de la entrega de premios, se espera que Keighley presente numerosos avances de videojuegos. Aunque 2023 ha sido un año con lanzamientos destacados, también ha sido un año difícil para la industria y sus trabajadores, con más de 6,000 personas despedidas de empleos en la industria de los videojuegos.
